Are We Forcing God Into Our Box

Through the years, I have ministered to many people who are standing on prophetic promises that have not manifested yet. Often times, they will ask me to give them some sort of prophetic insight into that promise and timing. God may say nothing to me about it at all or He may speak confirmation or He may give a course correction. I want to speak today about course corrections.

I know from my own life, we have a tendency to get a word and run to apply it to the matter we are most desperate for answers to. The problem is that the word may have nothing to do with that topic but something else God wants to address in that moment. Another issue is that we take a word and apply it through our human mind and will. “I want God to do this specific action in my life only.” We are not open to any other path, and we demand that God answer how we want it to unfold. The truth is, God is only going to do what is in His will to do in our life. It might look completely opposite to how we saw it happening and STILL make the prophetic word over our life true and complete.

When God says He will make a way where there is no way, it does not mean He will remove the exact obstacle we are staring at. Sometimes it is the unseen option and door that He will take us through. Pay attention to His still small or loud voice giving you directions and course corrections. He will put the new door in front of us. We have to not get so absorbed with how we desire the answer to be, and Ask, Seek, and Knock other options that could in fact be the true answer. Moses didn’t see the Red Sea as the open door God had for him. Abraham thought their age mattered and stepped out of the true path to try to fulfill God’s word. We can miss our opportunity or delay the manifestation if we are off in the wrong direction.

Understand it is up to God to perform the Word. We are to get into alignment, release the expectation on how He will accomplish His will in our life, and listen for His guidance with openness, praise, and thanksgiving.

If you are waiting on God, ask Him today if you need a course correction and new perspective in order for your promise to enter your world. Ask Him to confirm which topic in your life He is speaking to. Trust that God will answer you when you seek His face.

Isaiah 55:8-9

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 43:16-19

16 Thus says the Lord,

who makes a way in the sea,

a path in the mighty waters,

17 who brings forth chariot and horse,

army and warrior;

they lie down, they cannot rise,

they are extinguished, quenched like a wick:

18 “Remember not the former things,

nor consider the things of old.

19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;

now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?

I will make a way in the wilderness

and rivers in the desert.
