First, I want to address the obvious, if Jesus healed you then you are healed. The enemy will test you to see if you really believe you were healed and if you will start to accept that you weren’t so that they can continue on afflicting you.

Years ago, I was at a healing conference. I had a list of things written down from highest priority to ‘nice if it happened’ kind of thing. As the Words of Knowledge were being called, one of my issues that was in the ‘nice if it happened’ got healed just like that. Well, as soon as I got home, I noticed the same issue again. But when I examined it, the area did not feel the same way it did before the healing. I immediately saw it for what it was, a lie from the enemy. I started mocking him and the area went back to normal within the hour. For about 6 months, the enemy kept trying to get me to believe that I was not healed, and I kept challenging it while I watched it go away again and again. Eventually it stopped all together.

I was at another healing conference with my list, of course. They called out a Word of Knowledge about an issue that I didn’t think I had in reality, but instantly I felt heat in that area and the power. I went back to the hotel puzzled. I mean I had that problem every now and then, but it always seemed situational vs. a real issue that needed healing. So, I went about my life and still had the issue from time to time under the same kind of situation. This time I didn’t challenge the enemy like I had before. I think it was partly because I didn’t think I had the issue and failed to let the whole healing sink in to be something that I accepted as a problem and believed as a healing. It was not until 2 years later that I decided to accept my healing and rebuke the enemy, and wouldn’t you know it, the symptoms immediately went away. Knowledge is useless if we are not going to put it to action. I learned a very important lesson about letting the enemy win over on me.

Another possible reason stems from the reality that the enemy could reattach to another soul wound, at some point, and start over with the same physical problem. Pay attention to themes in your life. Do your memories seem to center around these people and past events often? Do your dreams reveal a possible wound or sin? Sit with God in prayer. Start in your early childhood; teen; young adult; adult years. See what past memories still hurt even now and talk to God about healing, forgiveness, and wholeness. Your mind will wander as you talk to God so notice if any moments of undealt with sin come up in the mind. If there is a gateway to this illness, God will expose it to you. God once told me to apologize to a ex-friend/co-worker for how I treated her even though she was the one who first wronged me and to a high degree. God was not addressing her part and if she repented to me, but He did care if I would be obedient regardless of who did what. I will not say it was easy on any level, but I did it and received no reply back. God healed me because of my willingness. We will not always receive resolution the way we hope to as humans. That does not mean we will not become Whole in the process.

Job 21:23-25
23 “One dies in his full strength,
Being wholly at ease and quiet and satisfied;
24 His pails are full of milk [his sides are filled out with fat], And the marrow of his bones is moist,
25 Whereas another dies with a bitter soul,
Never even tasting pleasure or good fortune.

God desires you to live your life in full health. The condition of our soul influences if that happens or not. Be diligent about soul healing; sin repentance; forgiveness; and keeping a godly mindset about aspects of life.

I want to also point out the simple truth here as well. People will die and how that comes to be is in God's hands. People do die when they are supposed to and it comes from a disease for sure. People also die early from an illness that God desired to heal. God also changes His mind based on what we do at times.

King Hezekiah was told by the Prophet Isaiah to get his house in order because he was going to die of his illness. Hezekiah cried out to God for healing and deliverance.

2 Kings 20:5-11 "Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord, 6 and I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David's sake.”7 And Isaiah said, “Bring a cake of figs. And let them take and lay it on the boil, that he may recover.” 8 And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?” 9 And Isaiah said, “This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?” 10 And Hezekiah answered, “It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps. Rather let the shadow go back ten steps.” 11 And Isaiah the prophet called to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz.

I want to point out here that God had specific steps for Hezekiah to do and observe before all would be restored. This was not instant in that it did not happen the day God first agreed to heal him. He had to wait for the appropriate time and place to be fulfilled.
