The Unforgiveness You Didn't Realize Was Holding You Back

We see this all the time, someone wrongs another person or sins in some major way, and we choose to be offended and angry at that person too. That person did nothing to us and in most cases, doesn't even know our name, but we are holding something against them regardless.

I see this often in female and male relationships. The woman or man is struggling in a romantic relationship for a time and confides the issues with friends or family. At some point, the couple moves past the issue and back into bliss, but the friends/family are still holding a "candle" as I like to say, for the wounds that were suffered. The friends/family never get past what happened and rarely truly welcome that person back into their friend or family member's life. It doesn't matter if there is never a problem from that day on. The friends/family have misunderstood what loyalty is for one, but also we need to consider the bigger problem here.

We were never wronged or sinned against, and yet we hold unending unforgiveness, in big and small ways, against someone else who was forgiven by God and the person they wronged. Think about all of the people who could and just may be holding something against you, that you are completely clueless about. We need to fully realize what all of this unforgiveness and offense is doing to our own soul. We have swallowed poison for no reason whatsoever. We have taken up a cause that was never ours in the first place.

We are indeed holding up our own journey by carrying around all of the baggage that we are choosing to ignore day in and day out. Just think about all of the ways we could be walking in this trap. Have you looked at the news or social media today? Did you block or attack someone based on something that had nothing to do with you? If so, are you still stirring about it if you were to think about it right now?

Today is the day to cut the power of the enemy over us. Place all of this junk on the Altar of God. Wash it all in the Blood that Forgives, Restores, and Renews Us. Let the Light of Jesus fill all of the holes in our heart caused by our actions. And watch our souls be made whole again through the Power of the Resurrection.

We are in a New Season and a New Dawn. It is time to start off fresh and with nothing holding us back. Forgive, Release, and Let Go. Never allow the enemy to put you in this trap ever again!

Luke 18:10-14 "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 'I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.' "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!' "I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."
